The Ricker Family

We are excited about being in Peru and reaching people for Christ. We finished deputation the beginning of March of 2009 and moved to Peru on the 30th of that same month.

God called me to work with the deaf when I was fourteen after spending a summer with my family at the Bill Rice Ranch. During deaf camp there were 900 deaf there, and most of them were teenagers whose parents did not know sign language.

There is a great need for people to work with the deaf all around the world. We are joining the team here at Efata, to help continue the work that has been here in Lima for several decades. It is our burden that the deaf “might know Him, and the power of His resurrection.” Our goal is to train nationals and missionaries so that they can then go out and start deaf churches and ministries. How often have you heard of a church for the deaf or a church with a deaf ministry around the world? There are very few. As God allows we desire to see many deaf ministries started. God loves the deaf. He commanded His church to reach all the world. This includes the deaf. We will also help men start hearing churches as God leads. Will you pray for our family and the Ministry of Efata as we endeavor to serve Christ until He returns? I would like to thank all of you who are helping us through your prayers and your support.
